A Follicular Unit Extraction, hereafter referred to as FUE, is a type of a hair transplant procedure which has become more common throughout recent years.
An FUE procedure is a minimally invasive outpatient surgery where donor hairs are harvested throughout multiple areas of the scalp from genetically stronger regions which typically are suspect to the hormone which causes baldness.  Once harvested from the donor regions the surgeon transplants the donor hairs to the area(s) of the scalp which need coverage.
More than likely, the surgeon will harvest donor hairs from the back of the lower area of the back of the scalp and transplant them to the top of the head.  More details about what distinguishes this procedures from others will be covered in the next section of this article.
